I was able to attend the last 4 shows in Branson and they were great. Unfortunately the guys were
limited to a short set which was the same for each show except the last one.
Bluest Eyes in Texas
Dancy's Dream
Tender Lie
Hummingbird (with introductions of the members)
Home (just Paul and Dave)
When She Cries
I'll Still be Loving You
That Rock won't Roll
Wrong or Right
During the final show they added Smart Dressed Man as an encore.
Also during the final show there were some practical jokes going on. The stage crew kept pumping out more and more smoke, and Larry was trying to wave it away.
Then when Larry sat down and started to talk about I'll Still be Loving You and how the song has kept the group going the following phrases showed up on
the big screen behind him:
He's Lying
We Needed the Money
blah...blah...blah
Just Shut up and Sing the Song
After the last one he said I think I will just sing the song. It was pretty funny. At the very end John came out in a blue wig and hat ZZ Top style. I was able
to get a shot of that and a shot when they put up Just Shut Up and Sing the Song. I was laughing too hard to get the other ones.
While introducing the song Home, Paul said that the group is getting ready to go into the studio and record it as part of a new album that should be ready by
the end of the year. They also mentioned that they still hope to put out a Christmas album too. The crowds were pretty small for all the shows except the
last one. That crowd was bigger and more excited. The guys really appreciated that.
I got to talk to all of the guys a few times. They all seem to be doing fine. They were heading home Monday for a couple of days before heading out for some
more dates. They are still hoping to add more shows.
If you have a chance, be sure to catch one of their shows. You won't regret it.
Fran
